Wind blowing, sun-shining, classic cold, Minnesota January day! Against my better judgment, throughout the years I have somehow given birth to THREE children during the cold month of January. They each married great people who were also born in this month. One of those beautiful, much-loved , cold-month babies of mine popped TWINS on her own birthday a few years back(Friday the 13th)!! What’s up with us?
My feet are cold! I am trying to recall any and all good reasons why I should like January. I do adore those big and little January kids in my life. . . .suppose that should really be reason enough. New beginnings, days are getting longer, first gardening catalog has arrived, new series for Downton Abby. It’s actually a good month to enjoy all of the great things that public TV has to offer. Ok, I’m feeling better. Once I start thinking I could list a thousand things that continue to bring joy right through the bitter cold of January. Another good thing comes to mind; it’s nearing the end for my very own ‘beckyredbarn’ give-away. The big blue canning jar is 1/2 full with names of friends and followers who have entered. So nice to hear from you!! If you didn’t yet enter , and want to, today and tomorrow are your days to get into the drawing. You may email, comment on the blog, message me on FB. It’s too late for snail-mail and unless the wind goes down I won’t hear you yelling across the prairie.
This crazy-cold month is good for lots of things. . .like designing and creating. Just have to run over to the fireplace and warm up every now and then! The give-away is your choice from what I have been working on this month; one of the RedBarn tote bags that I have on hand or a set of wintry greeting cards that work well for birthdays, get-well, party invitations , thank-you and “I’m so thankful that you are my girlfriend, customer or boss” notes. Ok boys, here’s a novel idea in our world full of ideas. . . .you could send a note to your best old guy-friend too! Honestly, I hear from men who say that they keep up on my posts but I have not heard from any men wanting to get into my little drawing! Hmmmmm-challenge!? You have until midnight of January 31st to make the leap!
